Post Workout BS = 113

This was a hard workout. I did the four mile loop in about 31 Minutes. It was very hot and humid. My right foot was a little stiff so I couldn't really hit a great stride. It feels better than before though. Interesting though my blood sugar didn't drop much went from a 120 to 113. This was 31 minutes of pretty hard exertion. Go figure.

AM Blood Sugar = 120

Had ihop for brunch Ham and Cheese Omlette. Kids wanted to try ihop. Really gross place.

Had sugar free icecream tonite and some sugar free cookies.

4 Mile Run

Did about an 8 minute mile pace. Pretty easy. Post run BS = 106. Iced foot after run. Used new sneakers. They have a lot of support. A bit more rigid. Need to get use to them a little. Icing really helped the foot.

Finished antibiotics.

Seem to have a higher BS when I sleep in. When I measure myself at 5 AM before work my bs is usually lower.

Decided not to workout yesterday. Went to bed early b/c of my lack of sleep the night before. Also checked in with the running store about my foot. Plantar faciitus. Bringing my shoes in today to see what they say.

Post Workout BS = 99

Good workout - Pilates followed by heavy repetition lifting. 25 Lbs - doing a lot of repetitions (20) did 3 sets. Definitely feel it. Would like to add this to my workout routine at least once a week. Is a really good recovery workout. Generally I do a heavy workout (bike, run or swim) and the next day do a recovery workout. Sometime a recovery is doing nothing at all.

Very tired after yesterday's run. Tonight's workout is a recovery workout. Pilates and Lifting. I want to work on some strength training but not bulk up. Low weight - High reps.

Seems to have dipped down. Wondering if it is the result of my workout??

Rise in glucose after exercise

Found some articles on how blood glucose can rise after an anaerobic workout.

4 Mile Run 28 Min 24 Seconds

Post Blood Sugar = 107. Go Figure??? My pre blood sugar was around 90. I have a theory though.


Sweated lost a lot of water. If blood sugar is some kind of relative measure losing water would decrease my blood volume giving me a higher blood sugar reading??

Good workout though. Focused on stride length. I can feel it in my quads.

28.24 = 7.06 mile awesome!!!

BS = 92 ???

Alas, my workout dreams dashed with a flat tire. I have a bs of 92 right now. Been hanging out in my brother in law's pool. We had pizza, I had one slice and a salad and an orange go figure?? Will work out with a 4 mile time trial. Working on stride and speed today.

Today's workout

I think the technique drills have really helped my swimming. I definitely feel faster and stronger in the water.

As far as the diabetes - I definitely feel in control in the morning but more likely to snack in the afternoon and evening. Obviously, on days where I have had a hard workout I do have a greater propensity to snack. Usually I will pick a low carb snack or fruit to eat.
